To create this I first found a snowy scene from Google Images and opened it with GIMP. Make a duplicate layer of the image, make the duplicate invisible, and then take a feathered rectangular selection out of the image. Allow the duplicate layer to be visible again and change the opacity of it. Then using the text tool, add in the information for the winter ball.
To make this one I followed the same steps as above but instead of a snowy scene I searched for a spring scene. Added in the information for the spring jubilee instead of the winter ball.
